I would have been writing more in December, but we had 38 *calls at the funeral home.
So if I was writing anything at all last month, it was obituaries.

*calls - Many funeral homes will quantify the number of people who died and were in their care each month as “calls” (the shorthand for “death calls”).
“Calls“ aren’t always funerals; they may be direct burials or cremations without any additional services like a visitation or funeral.
